The Hackett
Family's Gospel Singing Shed, which is commonly referred to as
"The Shed" is located at the intersection of Hwy 165 and 65,
just north of Dermott, Arkansas. For those of you, who are more
familiar with the area “The Shed” can be found between Big Ben's
and Flash-Market. “The Shed” sits at the edge of a 122 acre
cotton farm and in the fall appears as if it is sitting on a
blanket of snow.
By now you may be asking yourself what exactly is “The Shed”?
Well, once upon a time “The Shed” was exactly what it sounds
like …a tractor shed, but over the last ten years “The Shed” has
been transformed into a gospel singing performance hall. Inside,
one would find over 200 vintage theatre seats, public restrooms,
a fellowship hall, and a snack room where artists can sell their
cd’s or tapes. “The Shed” offers a unique old-fashioned,
friendly, southern atmosphere with an updated temp and an
air-conditioner!
“The Shed” is completely handicapped accessible and open to the
public. Performances are held the second Saturday of every month
at 7p.m. Each month a new gospel group is featured, as well as
“The Hackett’s”. Often, local artist are asked to sing or share
their talent throughout the performances.
At the end of the show, everyone gathers together in the
fellowship hall to enjoy each others company and to enjoy the
wonderful dishes cooked by those who desire. The Hackett Family
Gospel Singers’ would like to personally invite you come and
worship with them at “The Shed”. The experience is like none
other and there purpose genuine. No admission is charged, but
hand-clapping and smiles are encouraged! God Bless! Sincerely,
The Hackett’s |
